The chocolate and cocoa industry is committed to ensuring that cocoa is grown responsibly. As an industry, we believe that no child should be harmed in the growing of cocoa. This commitment is part of our long-standing support for the social, economic and environmental development of cocoa farming communities worldwide. Working to make life better on cocoa farms by raising farmer incomes, improving education and health and unsafe working conditions through initiatives including Farmer Field schools and other educational and health related programs programs funded by the World Cocoa Foundation.

 

Community and family awareness to tackle labour issues from within cocoa communities and help at risk children through the International Cocoa Initiative founded in 2002 and led by a Board of industry and Civil society representatives.

 

Certification for cocoa farming is a transparent, credible, and ongoing process that reports on labor conditions in the West African cocoa farming sector - on a country-by-country basis.
